Home / Services / Advisory

Sometimes the answer is that you are buying the wrong thing

We do workforce advisory because the analysis usually comes before the staffing decision, not after it. Demand modeling, rate benchmarking, vendor consolidation planning, and the quarterly review that tells you whether any of it worked — available as a standalone engagement, not only to program clients.

Why we sell this separately

Advice priced as advice

When analysis is bundled free into a staffing contract, it reliably concludes that you should buy more staffing. Charging a fixed fee for the work is the only structural way to make the recommendation trustworthy.

We may tell you to spend less

Most demand analyses we run end with a recommendation to move baseline coverage into an internal pool, which reduces what you spend with us. That is the point of paying for the analysis rather than receiving it free.

You keep the model

The demand model, the rate benchmark, and the consolidation plan are yours in writing. If you never engage us for staffing, you still own the work you paid for.

No program requirement

You do not need to be an MSP client, and engaging us for advisory does not commit you to anything downstream.

Scope

Four engagements, priced individually

Usually first

Demand analysis

Twelve months of unit-level scheduling and agency data, separated into baseline demand and genuine variability.

  • Which units are structurally short rather than occasionally short
  • What share of contract spend is covering predictable demand
  • Float pool sizing by competency cluster, if one is warranted
  • A written recommendation on the channel mix

Rate benchmarking

What your market actually pays, by specialty and metro, against what you are currently paying.

  • Bill rate variance across your facilities for the same specialty
  • Where rates sit relative to the local market, not a national average
  • Exception history, and what it has cost you
  • Where a rate is the reason a requisition is not filling

Vendor consolidation planning

A plan for reducing supplier count without the disruption that usually accompanies it.

  • Supplier performance assessed on fill rate in your markets
  • Which incumbents to retain rather than replace
  • Rate card design and exception governance
  • Whether an MSP is warranted at all, including when it is not
MSP or in-house?
Ongoing

Quarterly business review

The review that checks whether the plan is working, with the numbers that would show if it is not.

  • Fill rate and time to submittal against the baseline you started from
  • Rate variance trend and every exception taken, with reasons
  • Vacancy forecast for the coming quarters
  • Agency use reported as an exception, including when the reason was us

What we do not claim

Forecasting, not prophecy

We forecast vacancies from your own historical patterns, turnover, and known leave. That is useful and it is what we deliver in the quarterly review.

We do not sell predictive workforce AI, and we will not describe what we do in those terms to win a comparison against a vendor who does. If demand forecasting driven by machine learning is a requirement for you, say so early and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

  • Vacancy forecasting from your data — delivered quarterly, in writing.
  • Rate benchmarking against local market — not a national index.
  • No AI claims ahead of the capability, deliberately.
  • Assumptions stated, so you can disagree with the model rather than just the conclusion.

Start with the data you already have

Twelve months of scheduling and agency invoices is enough to begin. We will tell you what it shows, including when it shows you should buy less from us.
