Accessibility statement
Blue Water Staffing wants this website to work for everyone who needs it, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. Level AA is the widely recognized benchmark for accessible websites.
Current status
This website has not yet been formally audited by an independent accessibility specialist. In September 2026 we reviewed every page ourselves against WCAG 2.1 AA, in both light and dark display modes, and corrected the issues we found. We describe what that review covered, and what it did not, below.
What we have done
- Readable contrast. Text meets the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios against its background, in both light and dark modes, including text placed over colored and gradient backgrounds.
- Keyboard access. Navigation menus, links, buttons, forms, and the service cards on the home page can all be reached and used with a keyboard alone. A "Skip to content" link appears on the first press of the Tab key.
- Content never hidden behind hover. Information revealed on mouse hover is also revealed on keyboard focus, and is always available to screen readers. On touch screens it is shown without any interaction.
- Text alternatives. Every image has a text description, and icon-only controls have accessible names.
- Labeled forms. Every form field has a label that assistive technology can read.
- Structured headings. Each page has one main heading, and section headings follow a logical order so screen reader users can navigate by heading.
- Named map controls. Each state on the coverage map announces its full name and the number of open roles, not just its two-letter abbreviation.
- Small screens. Pages reflow for narrow screens without sideways scrolling.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site's animations are turned off.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you about these than have you find them:
- No screen reader testing yet. Our review used automated checks and code inspection. We have not yet tested the site with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver, and there may be issues that only that kind of testing would reveal.
- The coverage map uses color shading. Darker shading means more open roles. Each state button also states the number of open roles in its label, which screen readers announce, so color is not the only way to get it.
- JavaScript is required for navigation and tools. The site menus, the pay calculator, savings estimator, vendor scorecard, and job search require JavaScript to be enabled. Page content is still readable with JavaScript turned off, but the menus will not appear.
