Recruitment fraud alert

Scammers pose as healthcare staffing recruiters to collect fees and personal information. Here is how we contact you, what we will never ask for, and how to check a message that claims to be from us.

How we contact you

Email from Blue Water Staffing always comes from an address ending in @bluwtr.com. We do not recruit from Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com, or any other personal email account, and we do not recruit through WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, or similar chat apps.

Our main phone number is (877) 720-9940. If someone calls or texts claiming to be from Blue Water Staffing and you are not sure, hang up and call that number yourself, or email us as described below.

Watch for look-alike addresses. A scammer may use a domain one letter off from ours, add a word to it, or put our name in the display name while the address underneath is something else. Check the part after the @.

What we will never do

  • Charge you a fee to apply, be submitted, be credentialed, or be placed
  • Ask you to pay for equipment, training, background checks, drug screens, or licensing
  • Send you a check and ask you to deposit it and send money back
  • Offer you a job after an interview conducted only by text or chat
  • Ask for your Social Security number or bank details before you have accepted an offer — and even then, only through our onboarding process, never by text or chat
  • Ask you to buy gift cards or send money by wire, cryptocurrency, Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App

Warning signs

  • A job offer you did not apply for, or one made before anyone has spoken to you
  • Pay far above the going rate for the role and location
  • Pressure to decide or send documents immediately
  • Requests to move the conversation to a chat app or a personal email address
  • Spelling, grammar, or formatting that does not match a professional recruiter
  • Any request for money, in any form

Check before you act

If you are not sure a message, call, or text is really from us, email recruiting@bluwtr.com with the recruiter's name and what they asked you for. Type the address yourself rather than replying to the message you are checking — a reply goes to whoever sent it.

Do not send documents, personal details, or money until we have confirmed the contact is ours.

If you think you have been targeted

Stop responding to the sender, and let us know at recruiting@bluwtr.com so we can warn others. You can also report it to:

If you have already given out your Social Security number or bank details, contact your bank straight away and visit IdentityTheft.gov for a step-by-step recovery plan.
